Roll under skill rating on D20, each one under is a success. You start with 2, if you need more you can add more dice in exchange for giving the GM metacurrency. IF you have more successes than needed you can use them for extra effects or bank them for later. The GM can spend their metacurrency to do things like add reinforcements, make a test harder, etc. The part I like about it is that it keeps people involved in what is happening, and allows the GM to be equally involved while playing the same game.

In the 2d10 system, the successes over what is needed is called Momentum. And yes, if the situation allows, Momentum can be banked for another character to use, up to six Momentum can be banked in a Group Momentum pool. At the end of each round, or at the end of each non-Combat round, the Group Momentum Pool is reduced by 1. There are also Chronicle Points, which is the resource that lets you change things.
